Fossil fuels are not renewable energy. Fossil fuels are non-renewable fuel resources such as coal, oil, and natural gas buried in the ground and under the ocean. As suggested by the principles of supply and demand concepts, when the supply of fossil fuels falls, prices rise. Therefore, when the price of fossil fuels is high, there will be more energy options. Renewable energy, which was generally considered to be uneconomical, will become one of the more economical energy sources.

    Classification of fossil fuels:

      1. Coal: It is formed by the reduction of oxygen content after the release of water, carbon dioxide, methane and other gases after tens of millions of years or even hundreds of millions of years of carbonization by the plants buried in the ground.

      2. Petroleum: It is the hydrocarbons formed under the action of high pressure from the remains of microorganisms accumulated in water. Petroleum is refined to obtain gasoline, kerosene, diesel and heavy oil. Oil, one of the most used fossil fuels in the world, runs out more slowly than others. In addition, oil usage is high also because it is a raw material for petrochemicals and has a wide range of uses.

      3. Oil shale: It is formed after the carbonization of algae, and it contains too much ash, and most of them cannot be self-contained. Oil sands are sands containing 4 to 20% of heavy oil. Oil shale and oil sands are abundant in the Americas.

      4. Natural gas: directly excavated underground, mainly containing methane. After being cooled at minus 162 degrees Celsius and liquefied, it is transported as liquefied natural gas by large special sea ships or oil tanks. The distribution of natural gas is also very skewed towards the Middle East, the Americas and continental Europe.

      5. Combustible ice: It is a combustible material in the solid form of methane that is found and stored in the deep seabed.
